Help Nery Us Fund Uterine Fibroid Surgery

The motive of this campaign is to help fund surgery for Nery Us Segovia to have her uterine fibroids removed and save her womb.

Essentially a tumor growing on the womb, uterine fibroids can be a common issue in older women and are often treated through a hysterectomy - the surgical removal of part or all of the uterus or ovaries. The decision to undergo this unfortunate procedure is often justifiable in women post-menopause but is much more difficult to face at a younger age.

At 25 years old, Nery has been diagnosed with a fibroid that is 3.54 x 4.33 inches in diameter. This makes it nearly three times the volume of her womb and it is believed that this will continue to grow at a considerable rate of .2 inches per month, making surgery inevitable. Doctor Sergio Ricardo Vargas Diaz has affirmed however that if surgery happens within the next few months, there is a reasonable chance of removing only the fibroids and saving her womb.

Nery is already suffering from the physical effects of the tumors which include abdominal pain and pressure on her bladder and the sooner the surgery can occur the greater the chance to avoid other sources of suffering. This urgency is why we have been inspired to start this campaign, the sudden cost of surgery too much for Nery's modest means - yet too little considering the potential life-long benefits.

Any funds raised will be used directly to pay for the surgery and expenses regarding recovery.
