More information about Welcome Baby:
Welcome Baby’s mission is as simple as it is critical: to provide low-income families with one package containing all of the items they’ll need for their newborn in the first four weeks of life. For parents living below the poverty line, purchasing necessities like diapers and wipes is a financial burden often too great to overcome. However, the costs don’t end there. Clothing, hygienic items, baby carriers, and other essential gear add up to hundreds of dollars many families don’t have. The result is that the child may be forced to go without these vital goods.
Studies reveal the negative impact on both the mother and child when a lack of financial resources prevents a parent from buying essential goods. Mothers who struggle to provide basic hygiene supplies are more likely to suffer from postpartum depression. Without enough diapers, babies are more likely to get rashes, infections, and illnesses from poor sanitation.
Each Welcome Baby Package Contains:
Diapers (220)
Wipes (240)
Rash Creams (A&D, Desitin)
Swaddle blankets (3)
Short-sleeve Onesies (3)
Long-sleeve Onesies (3)
Footie pajamas (2)
Leggings (2)
Mittens, Socks & Hats
Pacifiers + bottles
Baby wash + moisturizer
Thermometer
Grooming Kit
Baby Carrier
$30 will provide a new mother with 1 month of diapers
$50 provides 1 month of diapers, wipes and rash creams

Welcome Baby donates its newborn packages to NYU Langone Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Northern Manhattan Perinatal Partnership, Acacia Network, Stony Brook Hospital, and the
Children’s Museum of the East End in New York; the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) in Schulkill County, Pennsylvania; and Mercy Health and the Mahoning County Board of Health, in Ohio. We currently provide between 50-70 Welcome Baby packages to new mothers and babies each month through these care providers.
