Help New Village Meet Community Need

Tax deductible
New Village is a non-profit early childhood education and care community in Northampton, MA that has been serving families with children birth-to-six years old for over a decade. We are dedicated to offering affordable, high-quality, culturally competent and inclusive care and education for whole families year-round. We prioritize a well-rounded approach to social-emotional education, outdoor experiences, gardening, food preparation, sustainability, and animal care. In our day-to-day work, we foster meaningful conversations about bias and systems that marginalize and harm people, and empower children and families to disrupt and change those systems. We talk openly about gender, race, class, disabilities, bodies, and other important issues in children's lives!

We are committed to supporting and enrolling members of historically and currently marginalized and excluded groups, and offer generous financial aid (up to 100%!) to families in need of care in our community. We also believe that our incredible teachers deserve a living wage. As we support ongoing legislative efforts to treat early childhood education and care as a public benefit for all, we exist in the current reality that treats preschools like ours as a business. But our business is LOVE and community care, not financial gain! Therefore, we need your help to continue to meet the needs of families and educators.

Our waitlist is over 60 families long and includes a single mother who works full-time for Instacart with her 3-year-old in the car. It includes a Haitian family with refugee status that is waiting to receive their vouchers to be able to pay for child care so that they can find work. There is a Black mother of a Black 4-year-old who has been expelled from two local preschools. There is a trans-family that has been discriminated against at their current center. The list goes on and on. And as New Village enters our thirteenth year and word spreads about our reputation for saying "yes", more and more families contact us looking for the kind of care and programming we offer.

Please help us continue to say "yes".

Your donation will help us meet both long and short-term goals, including (but not limited to):

  • furnishing our new infant classroom
  • providing need-blind enrollment
  • offering competetive teacher salaries that allow our amazing educators to support themselves while providing health benefits to all employees
  • building additional classrooms so that we can serve more families

Thank you so much for your support!
