Help Nia graduate from Howard University

Hello everyone!

My name is Nia Turner, and I am a senior Nursing major, Maternal and Child Health minor in my final semester here at the illustrious Howard University.

I come to you all humbly seeking assistance, as I have an existing balance of $8,000 on my account that must be cleared for me to graduate come May 2023.

As both a first-generation college student and an independent adult, my journey to pursuing higher education has not been an easy one. For the last year and a half, I have had to endure many setbacks. Most recently, this consisted of me finding out that I no longer qualify for loan opportunities because I have maximized my loan allowance and my immediate support system does not meet the requirements to qualify as a co-signer.

As someone who depends primarily on the use of financial assistance to pay both tuition and living costs, this has placed a huge burden on me. Additionally, I have not been selected for several scholarships that I have applied for and the ones that I did receive only covered a small portion of my dues.

To this day, I am still working tirelessly to bridge this gap, but time is very limited and options are few. My dream is to finish my degree so that I may become a Labor and Delivery nurse and provide care to women of color while alleviating the health inequities that many faces.

In all, I know that I did not come this far to not make it. God has made a way for me many times before and I feel that this GoFundMe is another part of His plan for me. This opportunity would provide me with the assistance that I need to finally pursue my lifelong dream, and reduce some of the financial burdens that I have in my life at this time.
