Nia Rae is on the Road to Cannes

My name is Nia "Rae" Lambert, I am a Sophomore Documentary Film Major with a minor in Education Studies at Spelman College. Spelman's motto is a choice to change the world and I plan to do just that through my film education.

This summer I have been selected to participate in the American Pavillion Cannes Summer Student Program. The American Pavillion's mission is to bring professionals and emerging filmmakers together. The Pavilion is the center of activity for the American film community at the Cannes International Film Festival. Cannes is one of the most important film festivals in the world. It is an international marketplace where producers and distributors could exchange ideas, view films, and sign contracts.

This internship will allow me to participate in roundtables with industry insiders, attend panels, and VIP screenings of films that have yet to be seen by global audiences. This experience will not only allow me to network with people in the film industry but like mined students from all over the world. At the end of this program, I will also have the chance to screen my film at the Emerging Student Film Festival at the Roger Ebert Conference Center.

In order to participate in this life-changing experience I will have to raise money for the program and air fair travel. I am more than willing to offer babysitting, photo, video, and admin services in return for a donation. I have linked my Portfolio and Resume for reference.
