Help Nicholas CRUSH Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Donation protected
Hello to all Friends, Family, and Anyone who is willing to open their heart to help us. After weeks of sickness-including Mono, sinus infection, and suspected appendicitis, and a weight loss of over 20 pounds-Nicholas was finally admitted to Advent Cancer Institute after a visit to the emergency room. Two days later doctors took a sample of Nicholas’ bone marrow to perform a biopsy, hoping it could give some answers. Biopsy results confirmed our worst fear: at only 19 years old with so much life left to live- Nicholas was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), also known as Acute Lymphoctic Leukemia. This came as a surprise to us, seeing as there is no history of cancer in our family. “Acute” means that the leukemia can progress quickly, and if not treated, could potentially be fatal within a few months. "Lymphocytic" means it develops from early (immature) forms of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.
Anyone who knows Nicholas would agree that he has a great sense of humor; is an entertainer; enjoys playing his guitars and creating music; likes playing, watching and coaching soccer; is a man of faith and is a great friend, son, nephew, older and younger brother, and grandson. His goals are to BEAT Leukemia, join the music industry and become a family man one day.

Nicholas is taking the early steps of what will be a long journey to a full recovery. Nicholas is currently undergoing multiple aggressive chemotherapy treatments and requiring almost daily blood transfusions because of low levels of platelets and plasma. Once in complete remission, he will need a bone marrow transplant. This will be a long road to recovery, but Nicholas is fighting strong!
Nicholas' treatment plan is incredibly expensive. A bone marrow transplant is ranked in the top 5 most expensive medical procedures. Because Nicholas needs a constant caregiver, his mom has taken unpaid medical leave as a teacher working with children with disabilities in elementary education. Please consider donating to, and/or sharing, Nicholas' GoFundMe page on your social media. All donations will be used for medical expenses not covered by insurance, lost wages, and traveling expenses. Any donation of any size is greatly appreciated.
