Help Nicholas Stokes with his Liver Transplant
Donation protected
To our family and friends,
Nicholas Stokes, a proud member of the Darlington, SC community, needs your help. Nick has been battling with a blood condition for over a year. After many months of treatment, his liver started to fail, along with other life-hindering symptoms. Now, Nick needs a new liver to survive. We’ve set up this Go Fund Me to help ease their financial stress.
Nick and his wife, Kimberly, are currently in Charleston, SC at a transplant-specialized hospital. They have been blessed with a diligent team that has sped up the process to place Nick on a transplant list. Nick will be placed very high up on the list due to the severity of his condition, and we are hopeful for a quick match, so that he may receive his new liver and start the recovery process as soon as possible.
After his surgery, he has a long road back to normal, daily life. He will spend another week at the hospital in Charleston after the surgery, and will remain in Charleston for another mandatory minimum 3 weeks, up to 3 months, before he and his wife can return back to Darlington. He will then begin the recovery process, which could take up to a year. His wife will have to take leave from her job for at least a month, but most likely longer so that she can be by her husband’s side to aid in his recovery. They will also be receiving help from close family and friends to help ease the transition.
The funds from this Go Fund me will be sent to Nick and Kimberly. Any amount of donation can help and will be incredibly appreciated, as this situation is very critical. and their need is very immediate. The donations will be used for expensive medications to ensure Nick’s good health that insurance will not cover, for a mandatory hotel stay of minimum 3 weeks up to 3 months after his surgery, medical supplies that insurance will not cover, as well as house bills while Kimberly is out of work to aid her husband.
Thank you all for understanding that this is a very private time for Nick and his family, and please refrain from contacting them at this time while they are going through this difficult and stressful time. Thoughts and prayers are very welcomed. Listed below will be Nick and Kim’s daughter’s contact information with any questions that you may have regarding Nick’s status.
God bless you.
