Sister with autoimmune disease loses home to fire
This year has been difficult for everyone but for my sister her husband and 2 year old toddler it’s been particularly arduous. Two years ago, right after she had her son, she started experiencing an array of ever increasing ailments and was finally diagnosed with CIDP before becoming physically impaired. She has fought her way through 12 months of physical therapy along with 5 different treatments and has committed herself to be able to walk and move again. Recently she has slowly started to regain the ability to move her feet and see some improvement with high doses of steroids and specialized treatment. They moved into a handicapped accessible apartment 2 months ago, last night due to no fault of their own the building caught fire and because of the damage it’s now condemned.
They are young couple both turning 31 this year. Before she was a full time surgical veterinary technician, who was extremely active and loved outdoor recreation. He is a semi-retired veteran that has had to withdraw from his cryogenic technician career in order take care for my sister full time. Truly could not have happened to nicer people.
They won’t ask for help but they have had such a rough year, I know they need it. I am setting this up to help them get back on their feet after this disaster.
Thank you for everything!
