Help Nick Get Back On The Yomi Ship! - Medical expenses

Hi there! My name is Nick Osborne (29) from Perth, Western Australia. I am seeking to raise funds to pay for surgery to correct a herniated disk in my lower back and for subsequent rehabilitation.

I am self employed as a drum teacher and part time disability carer. I am also one third of the Perth based instrumental rock band, Yomi Ship.

I was diagnosed with a severe herniated disc a week and a half before Yomi Ship's album launch show on the 28th June. Although I managed to pull through on the night, I have been left bedridden, unable to work, drive a car, or even stand for a few minutes at a time ever since.

Initial conservative treatment to manage the continuous sciatic pain unfortunately did not prove effective. I was hoping for a miracle recovery but it wasn’t to be, leading me to reluctantly pull out of Yomi Ship's first ever international tour throughout Europe and the UK :(

In order for me to keep to major commitments over the next 6 months surgery was presented as the only option. However, due to the public health system waiting list of up to 12 months, there is no choice other than to self fund through a private hospital to ensure I have enough time to rehabilitate effectively.

I have had zero income having being unable to work or do basic day to day activities as I cannot stand longer than 2-3 minutes at a time. I love working as a drum teacher and I’m missing my students. The mental anguish of letting my students down, missing out on a career defining tour, and the pressure the band has been under has been extreme but if I am able to offset some of the financial stress it would better allow me to enter rehab and make sure I'm back to being 100% asap for major upcoming shows and potential tours.
