Hello friends,
As a singer/songwriter, it’s impossible to feel vital and alive unless I’m creating music. It’s the only way I know to express myself. If I’m not doing so, I feel like I’m not breathing. My latest project is called, INTO THE RAINBOW ROOM.
Each story (song) on this album follows my journey as a gay man. Starting with the fears, struggles, abuse and pain I experienced and endured. All the years of covering up my authentic self as a young boy in the 70’s and 80’s. It also talks about the incredible joy I experienced when I finally became confident in my own skin surrounded by a family of choice who loves accepts and elevates each other. I hope that it inspires other LGBTQ+ people to feel like they’re not alone. LIFE gets better. Even though times seem bleak and impossible to get through..YOU CAN AND YOU WILL SURVIVE AND BE THE BETTER FOR IT. I want everyone to realize that when they push past their fears…A rainbow awaits them on the other side!
As a struggling artist, it is almost impossible to fund a full length album of work. The amount I’m trying to raise is only a third of what will be needed to pay for studio time, musicians, rehearsal time, photo shoots for album covers, graphic designers to create the artwork for the album and the costs of mass producing an album. There are many other costs but these are just a few of the big ones.
Part of the remaining money i will need to complete this project will be paid by a credit card (devoted solely to music expenses)that I will pay off over an extended period of time. The rest of the money needed comes out of my work income that I make as a massage therapist. Because I live from paycheck to paycheck (as so many of us do) there’s only a small percentage of my income that I can put toward my musical projects.
So as you can see, GOFUNDME is extremely important to an artist’s chances of successfully completing their projects. I thank you all for your consideration. And everyone who donates $30 or more will receive a thank you package from me which includes the final cd.
Remember, We have to take care of each other and be good to one another. That’s what life is all about.
With love and great appreciation,
Nick
