Help Nick's young family after losing him to MND
////////////////// UPDATE ///////////////////
as Ali said..."my beautiful angel Nick got his wings back" Nick passed yesterday 2am, 2nd July after incredible suffering with the shocking illness Motor Neurone Disease. At this very painful time, I ask of you all to keep supporting Ali and her gorgeous little 4 year old. They need our help.
Nick was the primary earner in the family and Ali now has many bills to take care of including Funeral expenses and Quarantine Fees from when they came home from Cambodia for testing and treatment.
Ali will need time to grieve with the support of friends and family, without the stress of money. And then she will need to find a home for herself and Zane to start to rebuild their lives.
Please continue to support Ali and Zane whilst they grieve and find their way without Nick.
I also ask you to share Nick's story widely to raise awareness, about ALS the most aggressive form of Motor Neurone Disease.
Thank you all for your kindness and generosity.

Hi friends, Kim Valance and I are setting up this page to help our beautiful friends Nick and Ali Sawyer who have been dealt the unimaginable.
5 months ago, our dear friend Nick was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease - ALS. A cruel and terminal disease that takes over his entire body. With no residual muscles or strength, Nick has been left motionless and trapped within his once active body.
Nick is deteriorating daily. He is in constant pain and is now feeding through a tube to keep him nourished. The family returned back from overseas due to his illness and have nowhere to live that is suitable for Nick’s disability and care needs. He needs 24/7 care, special equipment to assist him just to go to the bathroom (which can take up to 3 carers to help him) a specialised hospital bed and modified car to name a few.
Nick is father to two beautiful boys. James, 26 and Zane 4 years old and husband to the ever loyal and caring Alisa. He’s a son, a brother, a husband, a friend. He’s a brilliant creative, strategist, writer and poet. He’s a deep thinker, forever caring about others and always there to listen as a trusted and loyal confidante. This is unchanged.
The funds raised here will help Ali look after Nick, as she will need to care for him and won't be able to work as much to pay the bills and daily expenses and set up a future for little Zane.
Ali has stressed that it’s very important to them that no one donates who can’t afford it. Although in times of darkness they’re always thinking of others and we hope that we can shed some light by supporting them on this unbearable journey that life has dealt them.
“On the weekend I had the hard talk with Zane that I’ve been putting off for weeks. I told him that his dad is not getting better and that the doctors can’t fix him
I reminded him that his daddy has always loved him and been there for him no matter what and now we need to be there for daddy as much as we can.
He came in to the hospital and showed his dad so much love and care, stroked his hand and listened to his heat beating. It was beautiful to watch his compassion and love” – Alisa Sawyer.
