Many of you know my journey of recording an album finally. I had a GoFundMe last year that I reached a portion of my goal with. I ended up using those funds to record with a very talented musician/producer and we made something really cool that remains unfinished. I will be going into a new studio this week to complete the mission! I want to have this music out to you by early next year and I’ll be working to make that happen. For those of you who contributed funds here last year, I thank you. Making an album is a beast of a journey and I will continue to fund everything myself, and hopefully with your continued support I can release these songs that are so precious to me. It's been a long time coming. I've been preparing to record a solo record for years now. Many of you have seen me perform and have been so supportive to me through this journey. I want to finally get these songs out and have something tangible to give to you. This month, I will be working on my solo debut. I want to be able to see it through to the finish and I am doing it all on my own, without a label or management etc. Funds raised will go toward recording, mixing and mastering the songs, photographs/artwork, manufacturing physical copies of the record and, finally, the cost of marketing and putting it up online for y'all to stream. You who donate more than $50 will receive a vinyl copy of the record, plus special, exclusive merch, $20 will get you a physical vinyl copy of the record, and anything below, you will receive a free download of the album once it's complete. I am so grateful to my friends, fans, and fam for encouraging me all these years while I have strived to overcome dark periods, stage fright, and the awkwardness of learning to find my voice. I love you always and I'm ready to share my voice!
Update! I am overcome with gratitude to everyone showing support and encouraging me!!! Thank you all so much for donating thus far. It truly means the world to me. While I'm in prep mode for recording, I've gotten several messages regarding the original goal amount of $5,000. Many friends and comrades have encouraged me to increase my goal amount, considering the amount of money it takes to press vinyl, mix and master each song, and promote an album. After really working to lay out the actual cost of this record, and being encouraged by you all, I'm increasing my goal to $10,000 - 500 vinyls cost $3000+ and, before that, there is mixing and mastering each song, Producer fee, gear and studio rental etc. I want to pay everyone and do the best work possible. I'm going to be working very hard to get this out and I want to take you along every step of the way! My sincerest gratitude and much love to all of you. Always, Nico
