Help Nico ski with his family ❤️

Many of you know Nico. He is our extraordinary nephew with Spastic/Dystonic Cerebral Palsy that affects all four of his limbs. The Iemma Family does a great job at including him in many activities, but equipment costs are growing, and they could use some help.

Downhill skiing is an activity that allows all of the family to participate in an activity together. Many family members have taken training in order to drive a sit ski in order for Nico to enjoy a day out on the slopes. Unfortunately, they only opportunity to do so is through a program that runs for 1.75 hours a week, when they can enroll him and borrow a sit ski. In the pandemic last year, the program did not run and there is no guarantee it will run again this season.

Now that Nico is 13 this fall, Nico can fit into an adult sit-ski of his own which will fit him for many years to come, and will allow the family to ski on their own schedule and enjoy full days on the hills! The cost for equipment to allow a kid like Nico to participate in sport is high, never mind the regular costs of new wheelchairs, AFOs and custom seats as Nico grows just to get through regular life. The family has done so much, but the sit ski is beyond their reach.

The cost for a sit ski is about $6300 USD.
