Help Nicole and her three boys

Donation protected

On February 21, 2019 Nicole’s world was turned upside down. Her youngest son now age 4, had to be rushed to the ER due to unexplained excessive internal bleeding. After several days in the hospital and multiple tests, doctors diagnosed him with portal vein thrombosis, a blood clot in the portal vein (the blood vessel that brings blood to the liver from the intestines). This is treatable but could ultimately be life-threatening. Occurring in only 1-3% of the pediatric population. At that time doctors decided that the necessary treatment would be surgical banding of his esophageal varices every 4-6 weeks, a strict diet and constant observation. This was not an easy task for Nicole and her son to endure.  She also struggled with the level of local care he was receiving. This caused Nicole to dive into her own research discovering more about his condition and available options. She found a specialist in San Francisco and reached out in hopes of better care and treatment. Options were discussed and procedures were scheduled. Since then Nicole and her little boy have traveled to San Francisco multiple times for scheduled and emergency trips.

For over 2 years now he has required constant medical attention, undergone serious surgical procedures, regular lab work, takes medication daily, including injections, and continuous monitoring all while traveling back and forth to CA. This has forced less available time to be spent and shared with her older sons. It’s been extremely hard on the family. His condition is ongoing and he is currently being monitored by multiple doctors and specialists.

More recently on July 26, 2021 in Pahrump, a destructive thunderstorm hit the area and resulted in the flooding of Nicole’s and the boy’s home. Their entire home was in water causing irreplaceable damage to their furnishings and personal belongings. While grabbing what little was salvageable they immediately had to vacate. Nicole and her boys are safe and staying with family until their house is repaired.

The last couple of years have been extremely trying for Nicole and feeling overwhelmed is simply an understatement. The dilemma she has gone through with her young family is very real and so are the expenses. It is with so much love and concern that we now reach out to everyone who can find it in their hearts with the desire to help Nicole and her 3 boys. She has an alarming amount of out-of-pocket medical bills piling up, she will need to replace many household goods that were lost during the storm. This is a very hard time for this family. It would be a true blessing if we all could come together with the goal to help. If there’s anything at all possible that can be spared at this time please consider to do so. We give with a grateful heart in an effort to lesson the burden and hardship of our loved ones. We pray you will join us in this effort to bring some healing to this beautiful family.

God bless!
