Help Nicole recover in a safe environment

As some of you may know, my good friend Nicole was assaulted in her Los Angeles home after coming home from celebrating her birthday in the early hours of January 5th.

Nicole and her boyfriend Davis had gotten home shortly after midnight and approached the backdoor of their unit. Upon opening the door, Nicole stepped into the house and an entire pot of boiling hot water was thrown on her, severely burning her face and chest. A man was standing in their kitchen with all the stove burners on, holding a large knife. Nicole began screaming for help and trying to wrangle their two dogs who had been inside the entire time.

Unbeknownst to them, neighbors had already called the police on the suspected intruder who had broken in and were gathered by the front door waiting for cops to arrive. Their neighbors helped Davis chase the intruder into the alleyway where the cops arrested him soon after. This intruder had ransacked their entire home, pulling out drawers and strewing their contents, dumping their house plants all over their bed and floor, and spilling whatever he could find in their fridge, in addition to having started an electrical fire in the complex's laundry room before breaking into their unit.

Nicole was taken to a nearby hospital where she waited hours to be treated for the burns to the right side of her face and eye, as well as her entire chest. This has been beyond traumatic for her and she is suffering extreme mental distress as well as excruciating discomfort from her injuries. We would love for Nicole to be able to heal from this without the financial stress and burden of moving expenses, medical bills and lost wages.

This GoFundMe will help her and Davis with first and last months rent to relocate to a safer area, medical bills, and the necessary therapy to heal from this nightmare. She will be out of work for at least the next month and potentially longer if they decide against staying in the Los Angeles area which is highly likely at this point.
