Help Nicole with Medical Bills & a Service Dog!

Donation protected
Our brave, beautiful friend, Nicole Vermette Yaworski has been fiercely and tirelessly fighting a rare and painful chronic illness called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) with additional comorbidities of Dysautonomia / Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and Lyme disease. During the last year and a half, Nicole's life has suddenly turned upside down rendering her wild and free soul and spirit disabled.

After 25 years of valued service. Practicing as a NICU, PICU & ECMO perfusion nurse, and most recently, traveling the country as an Informatics Nurse consultant for a medical device company; Nicole has found herself mostly home and bedbound trying to navigate this uncertain journey toward healing or heaven. For 17 years she successfully managed her POTS and Dysautonomia diagnoses with courage and grace. Then, last year in March of 2021, she unexpectedly became ill. Suffering frequent unexpected heart stops and life-threatening arrhythmias. She was diagnosed with “Sick Sinus Syndrome, Sinus Pause, AFIB, and Tachy-Brady Syndrome,” requiring her to get a life-saving pacemaker implanted.

Unfortunately, many complications followed and Nicole developed pericarditis requiring a second pacemaker surgery. She became bedridden from complications. Simultaneously, doctors discovered a congenital genetic disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome type hEDS and vEDS and a borderline positive serology for late disseminated Lyme disease. She has since spent the last year and a half having multiple surgeries and rehabilitation from these debilitating comorbidities. Currently, Nicole continues with physical and occupational therapy, home health IV medications & hydration infusions through a central line, whilst doing her best to survive these ongoing complications from EDS, POTS / Dysautonomia, MCAS, and Lyme disease.

It will not let up for Nicole in 2023, she just found out that she has Cranial Cervical Instability (CCI) and Tethered Spinal Cord (occult type II). She will undergo spinal surgery in February. These diagnoses mean a very lengthy rehabilitation process ahead. Her medical bills are stacked, and they are growing. It is our wish to raise enough money for Nicole to be able to relieve her financial medical burden and to acquire a POTS-specific Cardiac Medical Alert & Mobility service dog; which she so desperately needs.

It is very difficult to watch someone you love endure such spiritual warfare and lose their soul-sparkle. Seeing Nicole living like this, watching the world pass her by through her window after the adventure-filled life she led before is gutting. She devoted her life to helping so many people with their illnesses, volunteering to rescue endangered animals and protect the environment, and sharing her knowledge and education through her passion for writing, art, and photography. Let’s help her to get her dignity, independence, and passion for living back once more!

...If you can manage a donation, $1, $5, even $25, or $50 — it will all go to help Nicole live life to the best of her ability. What a dream come true, to see her once again walk in nature, take in some fresh air, smile, and enjoy all the things we take for granted every day!

On behalf of Nicole, we her soul family, Gillian, Ange, and Lawrence welcome you to kindly share this far and wide with your networks. We greatly appreciate your generosity of spirit and we will continue to update you on her progress as much as possible.
