Help Nicollette and Her Senior Cat After the Eaton Fires
Donation protected
Hi, my name’s Amy, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my best friend Nicollette, who lost her home in the Eaton Canyon Fires in Altadena, CA.
Nicollette is a full-time PhD student studying to become a psychologist. She doesn’t have a stable income because her therapy work is part of her school program and is so important to the community.
When the fire spread, she had to leave in such a rush that she barely had time to grab anything. She left with just the shoes on her feet, a day’s worth of clothes, her laptop, and her senior cat who needs medication daily and eats a special diet. Her place was a sanctuary where we shared so many memories (I’ve even stayed there to care for her cat when she’s been away), is completely gone. We’ve grown up near this area and we love Altadena + this place so much. We are in disbelief that this has happened.
What makes this even harder is that Nicollette was denied renter’s insurance because she lived in a high-risk fire zone, so she’s now left to rebuild from scratch with no financial safety net. She is so humble that she wouldn’t ask for help herself, so I’m stepping in because she truly needs support to rebuild from nothing. She has to start from the ground up—clothes, hygiene products, food, water, shelter…everything. I know so many people have been affected by these fires, but if you can donate or even just share this, it would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity to help my best friend during this horrible time.
