Paws for Nike: Second Surgery, Same Brave Pup
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Sarah, and I’m the proud dog mom to my amazing companion, Nike. I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to share our story and ask for your support during an incredibly difficult time.
I adopted Nike in 2020 from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. He came all the way from Puerto Rico with his siblings in search of a forever home. From the moment I met him, I was drawn to his boundless energy, his zest for life, and the unconditional love he brought into my world.
Nike has been my rock through some of the toughest moments in my life. His joy, loyalty, and companionship have been everything to me—and now, he’s the one who needs help.
Since last July, Nike has been struggling with injuries in both his front and back legs. After months of tests, medications, and exhausting every option, we finally discovered that he had a torn ACL in his rear leg, along with another injury in his front leg. I spent over $3,000 just to get a diagnosis, and we eventually moved forward with TPLO surgery, which cost $7,000.
I hoped this would be the turning point for Nike—but tragically, things got worse. He developed a post-surgical infection, and just three months later, he required a second surgery that added another $2,000 to the mounting bills.
I’ve picked up a second job and work overtime at my full-time job, but even with all of that, it’s not enough to keep up with the costs.
That’s why I’m asking for your help.
Every little bit helps, and I’m incredibly grateful for any support—whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or simply keeping Nike in your thoughts.
Nike has brought so much light and love into my life. I just want to do everything I can to help him walk again, live pain-free, and continue being the happy, loving dog that he is.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping me give my best friend the chance to thrive again.
With love,
Sarah & Nike
