Help Nikki Transition!

Hi, my name is Nikki, and I'm raising money to afford feminizing hormone replacement therapy. My relationship with my gender identity has been complicated, so I guess I'll start at the beginning: Right around early 2016, I began to suspect that I was not cis. It was a feeling I couldn't shake, so I started experimenting with women's clothing and realized there was something I was getting out of it. Something was empowering about it. I wasn't sure what to call the feeling, so for years, I didn't apply a label to it, but the desire to be something greater than myself as I grew up only intensified. It was consistent with the feeling that I would never be that somebody as long as I lived as a man. Finally, my egg cracked during the summer of 2019. Since then, I've come a long way in coming out to my friends and family, and I now use my feminine name and pronouns predominantly online. But when it comes to transitioning physically, I am still no closer to achieving my fullest self than the day I learned I was trans. I've been dealing with the pain of being AMAB for the past three years, and it's gotten bad enough to the point that I feel paralyzed to put the energy and passion I know I have into my work. And so, I figure it's about time I do something about it. That starts here.

At time of writing, I plan to start my transition with Plume, the transgender healthcare service app. My parents' insurance does cover hormone replacement therapy, but it won't kick in until after I've met my deductible, which is $1,200. And since I'm going to age out of my parents' insurance in two years anyway, I figure it's more efficient to pay for Plume's monthly subscription than to potentially pay a lot upfront for HRT at an in-person clinic. I also don't drive, so Plume's telehealth appointments are ideal for me. All the donations from this fund will go towards keeping up with those monthly payments. I regret asking for something for nothing, and so I will continue doing my work to ensure that I can sustain these payments long-term. Any amount helps. Thank you!!
