Help Nile Johnson With His Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Our dear friend Nile Johnson was in a serious motorcycle accident on Tuesday, 7/25 and he needs the support of his friends, family, and his craft beer and golfing community. While traveling on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in North Portland, an uninsured driver pulled out in front of Nile, flipping him over the hood and across the car onto the pavement, knocking him unconscious.
The crash has left Nile in the hospital with multiple fractured vertebrae in his back, a broken right kneecap, a broken left tibia, and a broken finger. He has also suffered reparable brain trauma from a severe concussion causing short-term memory loss, as well as internal hemorrhaging in his skull.
While he's awake, in good spirits and has his sense of humor back, we are still waiting to see what his long road to recovery looks like. He's currently working with the amazing staff at Legacy Emmanuel to begin the excruciating process of physical and speech therapy as he tries to regain his normal cognition and get home to the care of his loved ones.
We are arranging this Go Fund Me to give his community the opportunity to contribute to Nile's medical expenses and other costs associated with his accident. Health and motorcycle insurance will not be enough to cover his extended hospital stay, as well as the continued care he will need at home including a wheelchair, medication, physical and speech therapy, and other items required for his reduced mobility. We are still unsure how long it will be until Nile will be able to work full-time, and anything you can contribute will help support him as he fights to return to the, beer-pushin(?), Magic the Gathering-playing, power hook golfing guy we all know and love.
Thank you for your support, and thank you to the Portland public who called in Nile's accident and first responders who saved him from the scene of the crash. Our many thanks go to the medical staff at Legacy Emmanuel, who have been extremely helpful to Nile and his family through this trying time.
