Help Nina Move to Safety in Washington

Hello, My name is Nina.

I am a trans woman looking for financial help because I need to move out of Texas as soon as I can. I am graduating this December and I am saving what little money I get from my part-time job and my G.I. Bill (5yrs Navy). My goal is to move to the state of Washington. I am asking for $4000, or as much as anyone is willing to donate, for rent and a down payment. It would provide me a window to find a job that can properly sustain me without the anxiety of losing a home.

Texas is beginning to pass harsher and more dangerous legislation that directly effects me as a trans woman. My identity is not legally recognized in this state, and most recently, Odessa has passed a bathroom ban targeted at transgender individuals that can result in us paying up to $10,500 usd.

With Trump and Republicans in control of America's government, I now have to worry about losing access to gender-affirming care, so I desperately need to reach a blue state.

I have a July* 2025 deadline because another trans friend will be leaving that month from Texas and they are my best opportunity to leave this state and have/be a support after the move. They are already saving for themselves and another trans friend, so I cannot and do not want to be a burden to them.

My mother barely sustains herself and her husband who are both disabled. My father and everyone from his side of the family is no longer in my life due to my identity. And most of my aunts, uncles, grandparents have passed away or refuse to talk to me.

ANY HELP is greatly appreciated!! This is a desperate attempt for support...because I have no one else to ask. If I'm unable to leave with said friend...I don't know...and I don't want to know. Please help me leave this state.

UPDATE: I have my degree now and I have managed to finally get a job and I need to have at least $4000 by July for not only myself, but the friends I am rooming with. I will try to acquire as many hours as I can and spend as little as life will allow me. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far :)

I genuinely cannot thank everyone enough! I'm at about $2600 atm, and it brings tears to my eyes that I actually think my goal can be achieved ❤️

UPDATE 3:

There has been a shift in plans. One of my roommates is having a major surgery and so our move date has been pushed back to July. While I would love to get out of Texas asap, I don't want my roommate to suffer any injuries from travel post op. I still am only looking for the $4000 or whatever is donated from all you lovely people. I look forward to the day I can help someone the way I've been helped ❤️
