Help Ayries and Analita's Family Heal After Tragic Accident

Donation protected
Analita "Nina" had just hung up with her long-time boyfriend Ayries, whom she was meeting with their sons Braxton (4) and Greysen (3). They would see each other in 5 minutes. 2 minutes later, Ayries heard sirens and got a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Driving to where the sirens were and Nina's last location, he came upon her tangled up white Ford Fusion with emergency responders working to get her out of the car. Greysen, who was on the passenger side of the car, was physically unharmed. Taking in his surroundings, he later told his great-grandmother that "the firefighters came and took mommy and put a mask over her face and the police officers took brother. There wasn't enough room so they went in 2 ambulances."

They were hit by a person turning left who failed to yield to them. Pushing them into a pole and up against a guardrail. You can read the story here: https://bgindependentmedia.org/child-seriously-injured-in-two-vehicle-crash-in-lake-township/

Braxton had no vital signs when they got to him and needed to be revived. He was taken to the nearest hospital and life flighted to Toledo Children's with no brain stem reflexes where he remains on life support. He has 3 brain bleeds along with bruising to his brain and his neck. The doctors are optimistic that he will have a full cognitive recovery but are concerned about the swelling in his neck cutting off circulation to his brain. His father Ayries has been steadfastly by his side.

Nina also needed to be revived, her left foot and leg are broken. She has a hole in her knee where something penetrated it, several broken ribs, and a minor head injury. She had the first of several surgeries yesterday to repair her broken body. Probably the worst pain for her is that she is at a completely different hospital from her son and can't be by his side.

Nina works for IVF Michigan & Ohio Fertility Centers and she currently lives in Toledo with their two sons where she frequently commutes back and forth from to see Ayries who lives in Ypsilanti, MI. Ayries usually keeps himself very busy with his family and 2 jobs at Crunch Fitness in Ann Arbor and Amazon.

Braxton James was born on January 1, 2020. He is the spitting image of his father, physically and in personality. The first birth of the decade at the hospital he was at, he even made the news! Here is the story: https://www.toledoblade.com/local/city/2020/01/01/toledo-first-baby-2020-st-charles-hospital-oregon-ohio/stories/20200101135

Greysen was born a year and 3 days later. Inseparable from his older brother, he witnessed the whole thing. Family has taken on his care and while he is surrounded by some of his favorite people, he will surely need help processing all of this later.

Ayries will need to be off of work indefinitely while Nina and Braxton recover. Nina's car was totaled and she will be off of work for an extended period of time for rehab, PT, and until she can drive.

We are asking for help to keep this family on their feet (except for Nina's feet, she can sit) until they can resume their daily lives. They have two residences, Nina will need another car, and they will need help with all of the medical expenses and bills. Please, if you can contribute financially, spiritually or some other way the family would greatly appreciate it.

I am Ayries aunt and I am coordinating this fundraiser along with his mother Angela with Ayries & Analita's consent. We will post updates as they are available.
