Help Nixon on his road to recovery
Donation protected
This page has been set-up by friends of Nixon's family.
On Sat 16th Oct 2021 Nix and his good mate made the unfortunate mistake of playing with old cans of spray paint and matches. Unfortunately, it ended in a large fireball that got them both. A huge emergency response was triggered with Careflight coming to the scene, multiple ambulances, police, detectives and TV news camera crews. As Nix wasn’t as badly injured as his mate, we got rushed via ambulance to Westmead Burns Unit while his mate was airlifted to the same department.
On arrival, the boys were attended to and it was estimated that Nixon had approximately 15% or his body burnt. He has sever deep burns to the right hand side of his face, arm, torso and leg. Sadly, his mate suffered worse.
Nixon will require surgery and much medical treatment in his recovery and the process and equally recovery is said to be extremely painful. It’s too early to know if there will be scaring, grafts or other issues. It’s simply a case of waiting.
Funds raised will support Nixon through his long term recovery for things like physio, dressings, other treatments and aides.
Keeping things positive if Nix bounces back quicker than anticipated any excess funds will be donated to the burns unit at the Westmead Children's hospital in effort to help other young burns survivors ❤
