The day after his twentieth birthday, my friend Noah Gardner’s car was t-boned by someone evading the police at 107 MPH. Police were in the process of laying down road spikes to stop the guy that hit him. Noah saw what they were doing and had turned around to go a different way and that was when he was hit.
His car flew three blocks, and he was rushed to the hospital with a very small chance of survival. He has three fractured ribs, a broken collar bone, two fractures in his pelvis, and lacerations in his internal organs, as well as muscle tears and a major concussion. Thankfully he survived, but his car did not.
His car was very important to him, and a valued possession. He spent hundreds of hours under the hood to get it working, so to regain consciousnesses, knowing it was gone was horrible. To surprise him, I’m fundraising money for a car when he leaves the hospital to help him emotionally and financially recover.
