Help Noma get life-saving kidney dialysis
Donation protected
When I met Noma, I had only spoken and texted with her for a few months as we were in the same Autoimmune disease support group. We'd grown so close, when I saw her for the first time it felt like reconnecting with a sister I hadn't seen in a while. So open, full of life and welcoming, Noma has a way of putting other people first even when she is going through hell.
Noma was diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and then developed chronic kidney disease. She has been receiving haemodialysis treatment since 2016.
Since last week, the only Haemodialysis Centre that accepts her medical aid has stopped providing treatment because they have run out of consumables. Noma has to undergo dialysis for 4-5 hours, 3 times a week, in order to survive. This involves her blood being pumped through a dialysis machine to remove waste products and excess fluids as her kidneys can no longer do this.
While we have been looking into kidney transplant options, we have to make sure Noma continues to receive dialysis, providing a way for her to live from one day to the next, one week to the next. For a better chance at life and a better quality of life enabling her to raise her 9 year old boy, Malachi, we will need further support to help with a kidney transplant.
The matter of dialysis is urgent and we are calling on your support to help us keep Noma going until she can get a kidney transplant.
We need to urgently raise €600 per week for dialysis and blood transfusion and are grateful for whatever support you can give.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
