Help Nour Rebuild Her Life and Fulfill Her Educational Dream

Donation protected
Hi ,My name is Nour Adel Al-Najjar, and I am a 25-year-old resident of the Gaza Strip. The recent war has shattered my life, leaving our home was demolished and my family in dire straits. Amidst this chaos, I am struggling to survive and hold on to my dreams of a brighter future. Despite receiving a grant to further my education, the outbreak of war has halted my progress. Your support can make a profound difference in helping us rebuild and allowing me to continue my educational journey.

As the ground offensive began, we found ourselves trapped with nowhere to flee. We stayed in the only remaining part of our home, a partially demolished room. One night, we were besieged by the Israeli army. Desperate, we contacted the Red Cross, but they were unable to assist us. We endured 24 hours of siege, not knowing what our fate would be.

With the dawn of the next day, we decided to take a perilous risk. At 5 a.m., we left our home under the constant threat of artillery and sniper fire, carrying nothing but white flags to signify our civilian status. We had to leave behind all our belongings, including food, water, and clothing, fearing we might be bombed on the way.

Our destination was the humanitarian area in Rafah, a journey that took over three harrowing hours. Along the way, we faced continuous bombardments. In the chaos, I was separated from my family. The terror of not knowing if my loved ones were safe overwhelmed me, and I broke down in tears amidst the sounds of explosions and the screams of children and mothers.
Miraculously, I found my three sisters. Together, we waited for the dust to settle, searching for our parents and younger brother among the devastation. After what felt like an eternity, we reunited with them, and with renewed determination, we pressed on, accepting that if we were to die, we would die together as a family.

We reached Rafah with no clear destination. As night fell, my father sought shelter for us, eventually finding a friend who offered us a place to stay for the night. The following morning, we moved to a tent, facing harsh living conditions without basic necessities like water or food.

Living in the tent, I contracted hepatitis A due to the poor conditions. Currently, we are trying to secure better living conditions. We lack adequate food, water, and clothing, and the prices of essentials have skyrocketed, making it nearly impossible to afford basic needs. The entire Gaza Strip is suffering from severe famine, and we are in dire need of assistance.

Before the war, I graduated from university with distinction and was offered a teaching assistant position at my university. I have always been passionate about my education and have dreams of completing my master’s degree. Despite the dire circumstances, I am determined to continue my educational journey and build a better future for myself and my family.

We are reaching out for your support to help us rebuild our lives and for me to continue my education. Your donations will go towards:
  • Securing safe and stable housing
  • Providing sufficient food, water, and clothing
  • Ensuring access to medical care and essentials
  • Supporting my efforts to pursue a master’s degree.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives and help me achieve my educational dreams. Please help us survive and rebuild after this devastating conflict.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
