Help Nour's Family Escape War-Torn Gaza
Donation protected
My name is Anna (IG: queer.social.worker and support4gazafamilies) I live in Washington State in the USA and I am supporting my friend Nour in fundraising. Gaza is slowly loosing more resources and aid is being cut. Food is near impossible to obtain unless you can pay obscene amounts of money. Everyone deserves basic needs such as food met. I speak with Nour and her family daily so I can verify how the funds are being distributed. Here is her story:
Hello world, I am Nour .
please read this as if I were your family member. Maybe your sister, your daughter, or your friend, as if my family that is dying now is your family.
My name is Nour. A newly graduated lawyer from Gaza, a new lawyer who was supposed to start her career and achieve the dreams she worked for, but she found herself losing the city in which she lived and losing any hope for a better future with it. After 6 full years of study and training, the war had another idea.
Since the war on Gaza began, it has lost almost everything. On October 27 last year, less than a month after the start of the war, my mother lost our only source of livelihood, a chicken farm run on modern energy, in one second. One missile was enough to eliminate our entire family's livelihood. My mother is the one who takes care of me and all my siblings.
me and my mother:
My loss does not end here, because for us Gazans, death knocks on our door every day. Every new day of war is the possibility of a new loss. On November 21, 2023, this shock, a month after my mother lost our only source of livelihood, a belt was made in the area where we live off 8th Street between Al-Zaytoun and Tal Al-Hawa, and it was like a big slap in my face (Where are we going?), it was a reminder. It is cruel that the continuation of the war causes great destruction. We had to flee except for this genocide, death is above our heads.
After more than 5 times of displacement and having to leave our home to escape missiles and death, we returned to our home and found it almost destroyed, and more than half of it had been destroyed and had become an unfit place to live, not only leaving us with tired hearts, but also without a place to stay.

I initially presented myself as a lawyer from Gaza with dreams, a girl in her twenties who had professional plans and goals that she wanted to achieve, a person who had lost a lot in a short period of time. But what is most important in this war is that I am the older sister who sees the future of her brothers being lost before her eyes. I also see my brothers who have not finished their university studies, my sisters who are still young and supposed to be in school, and my mother who found herself forced to start from scratch when she was supposed to catch her breath, raise her children and live a stable life.
I have made it my mission to save myself and my family or those who are alive, save their future from all of this, and escape Gaza if we can. We only have my mother in this life. My family is large, and before I lose one of them, I intend to evacuate my family of 11 members from Gaza: * Me, my mother, my sisters (Manar and Asala, who have two young daughters, Dalal and Nour), and 5 brothers (Basil, Muhammad, Montaser, Jasser, Ahmed) and my sister Asala’s husband.
So here's how the money is spent: * Paying about $7,000 for each member of my family of 11 to cross the Rafah border and arrive safely in Egypt * About $6,000 to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) * The rest of the money It will be housing, food, etc. for a period of time in Egypt
Asking for your help is the only way I have to rescue my family's life and future, your help may become our hope when hope is far away from us under these conditions, every dollar you can help with may save a life, bring hope to a tired heart and save a future of a youth one Please don't read this as a tragedy story,, I'm here to ask you to prevent it from getting more tragedy and to help us start our life all over again. I'm here to ask for your help not your sympathy, to ask you to take action whether by donating or by sharing this to everyone you know who can help, please read this with your heart and take action as if it's your family, your mom, your siblings who are under these conditions.
