Please Help My Wife Nutcha Survive Cancer

Donation protected
My wife Nutcha is extremely sick in an aggressive cancer but not able to get treatment because she is not a Swedish citizen nor has residence permit in Sweden. She is too sick to travel back.

We have to pay for her medicals and treatments at tourist-cost ourselves, which is impossible. Even a simple 15 minute doctors visit now costs us over 2 000 Kr. She needs heavy treatments which will cost thousands and thousands.

We have run out of money and she is at home in extreme pain with no treatments other than heavy painkillers.

Below is the long story, please read if you have the time and if you like to know more details about our situation:

I first met Nutcha in Thailand about 3 years old. We fell in love and I even overstayed my visit just to spend more time with her. When I came back to Sweden I couldn't stop thinking about her, we kept everyday contact and grew even closer.

She came to visit me in the beginning av 2019 so that we get to know each other even more and see if there is a future for us living together. During that time we fell even more in love but eventually she had to go back to Thailand.

I went to her again at the end of 2019 and we flew home to Sweden together in January 2020. This time we had decided that we would live together and get married soon. The plan was for her to stay a couple of months, then go back to Thailand to visit the Swedish embassy and apply for the 2 years standard residence permit, as is the procedure.

Then came Covid…

The borders got shut down and she couldn't go back. Since then she has continuously renewed her tourist visa 4 times. The last visa renewal is due to her being very sick and not physically able to fly back to Thailand. (She has to use a walker just to move around at home)

We got married in March 2020 ❤

Cancer...

Nutcha started having back pains in the summer. At first she dismissed it, tried to exercise, do stretching and just ignore it. As it got worse and worse we sought help at the hospital (vårdcentral) which only sent her to see a physiotherapist.

We are now in October and the pain was getting worse, she was losing weight and feeling generally sick. I took her to see my doctor who booked for her to get magnetic X-ray.

A couple of weeks later she finally did the X-rays and in November 11 we were sent to the “cancer investigation unit” at Linköping hospital. (Enheten samordnad cancer utredning). They also did some blood tests and told us that they feared she has cancer.

On our way home they called and said that Nucha’s blood levels are really bad and we have to go to our home town Motala’s hospital immediately, where they kept her for 4 days and basically changed her blood.

We received the worst news in 19/11 from Linköping hospital. They told us that she has breast cancer which now has spread to her bones and pelvis. The cancer has spread too much and impossible to completely cure it but with the help of radiation therapy and chemotherapy they will try to get it under some control and give her more time and less pain. (please see the documents below under updates)

On Friday 3/12 she was at Linköping hospital for radiation treatment, oncology clinic, met doctors, did blood tests and X-rays. The week after we were there on monday-friday where she received radiation therapy and new blood.

After radiation therapy her pain went significantly down.

Biggest chock, after the cancer news (we must pay everything ourselves)…

Until then we had paid the Swedish rates, which means you only pay 200 kr for each visit to the hospital. Now they told us that they had made a mistake, as she is not a citizen or has a residence permit. My wife and I have to pay everything as we are tourists!

All of a sudden a 15 min visit to the doctor went from 200 kr to 2 275 kr. Just for the visit, not any treatments or medicines!

How did we end up here?...

She got stuck here due to Covid not being able to fly to Thailand for her interview at the Swedish embassy so she could get her residence permit, and of course her travel insurance stopped being valid long time ago. Now she can’t go back there to do the bureaucratic paper work so she can come back as my wife, and she can’t even get cancer treatment if we don't pay for everything our self.

So on 18/12 she would have started the chemotherapy and getting new blood because her blood values are again very bad, and she would also get medical help at home where they would come to test her blood and watch her medication. But none of that has happened and will happen unless we pay for everything in advance.

They have already opened and put a venous port in her chest that is supposed to be for the cytotoxic drugs but its just hanging there in her chest.

Basically they have ended her treatment because she is not covered and we have no money to pay for ourselves. She’s just lying down at home in pain, getting worse.

I’ve been in contact with the Swedish Migration Agency and the Swedish embassy in Thailand, as they have promised to do the paper works without her being the physically for the interview, but the clock is ticking, we don’t know how long it will take, and she is getting worse by the day. And even if the eventually decide to our favor, non of the costs will be covered retroactive.

I’m afraid when they finally decide, without treatments RIGHT NOW, it will be too late.
