Help Nugent family rebound after tragedy
Donation protected
Dear Friends..I am writing this on behalf of my best friend, Paige Nugent and her two children (Bentley and Kyndel). Her partner of ten years, Stephen Perkins, passed away suddenly last month from Covid-related heart failure which progressed much more quickly than anyone expected and this was all the more devastating because of Paige's unshakable optimism that Stephen would beat the odds. She was certain that they had many more years together. Little did anyone know the irreversible damage to the organs of otherwise healthy individuals the virus was capable of, leaving Stephen defenseless against the rapid deterioration of his condition. Both Stephen and Paige were defiant in their belief that he would get better. Belief is a powerful thing, but sadly no amount of self-care could have slowed down or reversed his heart from failing. He was only 44 years old. Stephen was an ISA certified arborist and owner of Tree Tech, a successful tree service that he built from the ground up, and he was a great provider for his family. Over the years, Paige played a supporting role in the business and would often jump in to help out--although Stephen preferred that she did not use his chainsaws, but that was probably a good call on his part. The responsibility of providing for her family has now shifted to Paige, and life as they know it has been turned on its head. I have been very proud of the way she has put one foot in front of the other, managing the devastation and sadness of losing the love of her life. She has found the inner-strength and determination to step up to the plate and is focused on making the transition to a new normal as painless as possible for her children. She immediately began filling out job applications and has thankfully been hired for a full-time position with a good company; however, she does not start training until mid-September. The stress of trying to make ends meet is nearly overwhelming her. I believe she is a worthy cause of support for those inclined to give because her goal is to become totally self-sufficient and is willing to put in the hard work to get there. Donations will help cover food for their family pets (a dog and 4 cats!), get her caught up on her bills and go towards her rent and will allow her to focus on her children during this time by relieving some of the pressure she is under. Thank you.
