Help nurse Niko back to health

Niko was found wandering a construction site starving 3/10/24. Niko is safe and will be headed to the vet very soon for a full check up. Niko has a bad skin infection with a ton of missing hair, overgrown nails, several lumps and bumps that will need testing, and he is also severely malnourished. He is in rough shape and has a long fight ahead of him.

He is currently being fostered and up for adoption through Cody’s Friends Rescue in DFW. For anyone interested in adopting Niko please submit an application at https://www.codysfriendsrescue.org/adoption-process he will be under “new arrival.”

Any extra funds will be split between Cody’s Friends and The Love Pit who tried to help responsibly rehome Niko in 2019.

3/13 update: Niko went to the vet today for a full check up. He has already gained weight, he weights 68 lbs and was healthy enough to get vaccines. Based on the condition we found him in, he is already looking so much better. His skin problem is a severe flea allergy. He got an antibiotic and flea and tick prevention. He also got a HW test, blood test, and fecal test. He had a lump on his wrist tested. They were not able to tell what it was but recommended that it be removed. Niko’s next step will be surgery for his lump removal and a biopsy once he has recovered a little more.
