Help Nyagwethe get an Ambulance
Donation protected
Hello beautiful contributors!
We are a group of 3 volunteers: Carlos from Spain, Nicolas and Fanny from France who had the amazing opportunity to work and live in the village of Nyagwethe, Western Kenya. Situated between pristine hills and the magnificent Lake Victoria, Nyagwethe boasts a sense of community that we have never experienced before. Despite very limited resources available here, people are extremely kind, welcoming and warm-hearted. While the community strives to be self-sustainable, there are certain things that are simply out of reach
About this time last year, thanks to your kindness and numerous donations, the village of Nyagwethe was able to purchase a car. While the vehicle served well, we need your help again!
Unfortunately, after months of through use the Nissan Wingroad broke down and desperately needs repair. The collected funds will go towards replacing the battery, radiator and air flow sensor, so that it can hit the roads again.
Once fixed, the vehicle will be converted into an ambulance. With the nearest hospital being nearly one hour away, there is currently no way for patients in emergency situations to get treatment. The repaired vehicle will be then used by villagers to transport distraught patients to the nearest town of Sindo and could save their lives!
If the donated amount surpasses the costs of repairing the car, the surplus will be used to purchase necessary medicine for the local clinic.
On behalf of the amazing community of Nyagwethe, we thank you!
