The original goal has been reached, but not in time to avoid having to put some of those funds towards another month in an Airbnb so we've bumped to goal up to $7,000 and hopefully this will be able to get her all the way into a long term place!
Urgent update!!! If we can raise another $1400 in the next few days there is a place available for this single momma to move in to! If you'd be willing to even at least give this fundraiser a share to get it into new networks we'd love for her to be safely housed in time for the holidays. Hi Everyone, I'm a NY mom, holistic healer and freelancer that has fallen upon hard times for a while now (2 years) but have really been through it the last year alone with the virus and with going through a tough period with a toxic person that left me just enough money to be able to start on my own. Me and my kids have been on our own since April and have been bouncing around from airbnb to airbnb and some hotels in between. Which is very expensive and I have barely been making that alone plus the cost of food and such has made this a very depressing period. But I finally have a ray of hope, I have found a local agency that has been helping me find a new home that will allow me without having a 9 to 5 good or perfect credit. And we found a nice size and affordable apt for us that is available December 15th. But in order for us to move in I need the following:
$1900 for first/last month rent (i have the security deposit), Rent is $950/month
$1000 for National Grid (Electricity) to be turned on
$500 for a couch or sitting for the living area
$350 for cable (to have wifi for my freelancer and holistic work)
And $900 for bed sets for me and the kids.
I greatly appreciated anyone that can help and donate during this time.
I am also looking into local places to help with the rest of furniture and other costs.
I hope to update with videos and photos of us in our new home soon.
