Help Oasis Pet Spa keep their business open

Hello, my name is Arlene Jermann and I am setting up this gofundme page to help my dear friend Jessica and Bobbi at the Oasis Pet Spa keep their grooming business open.

The Oasis Pet Spa is just south of Columbia City in SE Seattle. Most of you know Jessica as the wonderful happy patient groomer who loves your fur babies almost as much as you love them. She’s also a woman minority business owner who is living her dream of owning and operating a small business here in Seattle; however, it’s getting harder every day and on October 31st her lease is up, the landlord is not renewing, and without your help her business may be forced to close. Jessica told me that her heart aches to have to write for your help. If you don’t know, life as a teenager was rough for Jessica. Jessica’s family became homeless and her mom decided it would be best for her to go into foster care for a while, then she moved back with her mom and then she moved out, eventually earning her GED while volunteering at the Woodland Park Zoo and working part time at a pet salon. She received a grant from Treehouse to go to school to learn how to groom animals. For over twenty-two years, she’s been thankful that you have trusted her with your pets. Your business has enabled her to give her eight-year old daughter Marae many happy memories. She has gone to Wild Waves and the Oregon Coast – experiences Jessica never had as a child. Jessica’s eyes light up with love when she talks about her daughter and sometimes she bring her to help take care of animals at OPS. Jessica told me, “It will break my heart if Marae sees me fail.”

Today, I want to share Jessica’ plan for transitioning the Oasis Pet Spa into a mobile grooming business. With rents continuing to rise, it’s the most cost-effective way she can work in Seattle. And, the only way she will be able to switch is with your help. She needs $30,000 to secure a loan to purchase a $160,000 Wag’nTails Pet Stylist Elite mobile grooming bus. Her mobile bus will be licensed to work in Seattle. Unfortunately, most of the equipment she currently owns will need to be sold as it will not fit in the bus. She’ll have two grooming stations – one for her and one for Bobbi, a full-size tub, plumbing, power from a generator, storage for the various tools, a bathroom, and all the necessities for a mobile business. It’s a fully equipped salon on wheels. She’ll come to you and provide at home curbside mobile dog grooming services. Her services will be convenient, professional, clean, and focused on your pets.

Please pass this on and share it with any of your neighborhood dog lovers.
