Help Officer Joel Hernandez Heal and Recover
Donation protected
On November 6, 2024, after his shift, Senior Correctional Police Officer Joel Hernandez was traveling home on his motorcycle on the Garden State parkway when he collided with a deer, sustaining severe injuries. As a result, Ofc Hernandez suffered from internal bleeding and several broken bones. He's had to endure several surgeries and is still in critical condition. Although at this time his prognosis is positive, he will have to remain hospitalized for at least 3 months and has a long road to recovery ahead.
Ofc Hernandez has been with the NJDOC since 2016 and is assigned to the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center. He is a kindhearted and good spirited Officer who has served the department with dedication and honor. Ofc Hernandez is a member of the Honor Guard having served our law enforcement community at their darkest hour. Now he and his family are facing an extremely difficult time, and we are asking that you consider supporting them as they embark on this journey towards healing.
Ofc Hernandez is the sole financial provider for his family and is the primary care giver for his mother who is bid ridden.
Any assistance will be appreciated.
