First of all, I’m a 21 year Army veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan. Once upon a time I had a very successful Hot Rod shop. I was constantly booked a year out. I’d finish one project and another would get tacked on the end. I specialized in the upper middle class, my most expensive build came in at just over 13K and that had air, power windows, power door popper’s, power locks, custom interior, the works. Most of my builds were well under 10K. Customers raved about my attention to detail and my attention to safety once the project was done and gone. All of my customers became my friends (some of them for life) I freely gave advice on forums, on the phone, and in person. Even now, 4 years later. I field several phone calls a week from enthusiasts from all over the world!

Then on July 7Th 2015 my shop caught fire, forever altering the course of my life. I got caught underneath one of my projects and couldn’t get out fast enough. I suffered 3rd degree burns over 20% of my body, I was comatose for 10 weeks, I received a brain injury from oxygen deprivation that has forever taken away my ability to walk and left me with tremors so bad I can’t even feed myself. It’s devastating to think that I’ll never be able to turn a wrench again. And it’s a real pity to let my trade die with me.

So I guess you’re wondering why the sob story? Well my sons have decided to reopen the shop, I will supervise, teach, QC, and design the vehicles. The problem we have now is that a lot of my expensive fabrication tools were severely damaged or destroyed from the fire. We need your help to replace them in order to be a proper Hot Rod shop again. Please help, this gives me a sense of purpose again! Something that has been lacking since the fire.
