Help Olena support a family from Ukraine

As some of you may be aware, my colleague Olena Stanislavska recently opened her home to a family fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Before the war, the parents in the family, Anna and Vitalii were surgeons-urologists living in Kharkiv, and their children Kira (9) and Alisa (3), both lovely and very smart, were happy and doing very well at school. Unfortunately, they have since learned that on the 4th July a Russian bomb destroyed their school; however, despite the turmoil, Kira continues with her private maths and English classes.

Anna was Olena's husband's classmate when they both lived in Ukraine, and since the family were forced to leave, they have been sponsored by Olena and her husband and are living in their home, along with Olena's parents, who are also fleeing the war.

As you can imagine, this is a huge burden, not only emotionally but financially. Olena and her husband are supporting the family whilst the parents try to find work, whilst also taking care of her own parents and helping them all negotiate the ways of an unfamiliar country.

To help Olena, her family and their friends, we want to raise enough money to cover at least some of the living costs that an additional six people has added and relieve some of their immense burden.
