Help Olive Oil - Quinn & Carmen’s Kitten
Donation protected
Hi friends - Quinn’s kitten Olive Oil (on the left) has FIP. In layman’s terms, it is a feline Corona virus that has mutated to a nearly fatal disease. They adopted two siblings in July - Pesto and Olive Oil. Pesto died last month from FIP before we knew how aggressive the illness could be. Without treatment, it is nearly always fatal.
Feline Corona virus is actually quite common. But just like human Covid-19 and its variants, most cats get the Corona virus and it resolves itself without issue. However, in other cats it can mutate to FIP. There is a treatment with a high success rate, but it is expensive.
My heart broke losing Pesto, but more so watching my daughter’s and boyfriend Carmen’s hearts break. They thought they were going to have these kittens to love for many years. They prepared for the adoption as one would for a child. I cannot express in words their emotional investment in these two little ones.
I can’t watch them go through this again without trying every available treatment. Your donation would go towards the medication that Olive Oil will need to take for 3 months. Our hope is for “Oil” to return to good health and live a long life filled with love. This will be possible if he receives the proper medical treatment protocol.
Please consider donating if you can. Just $5 dollars will pay for a day’s dose and the rest will help pay for the vet bills and testing. Thank you for your consideration. Nathalie ❤️
