Help Olivia attend FPS International Competition

Hi, I'm Olivia, I am a member of an academic program called the Future Problem Solvers at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast. This program allows students to master a skill that will help them for the rest of their lives!

This year my team and I wanted to create a project that would help lower the number of teens that experience any type of violence whether it is physical fighting, dating violence, or bullying. This is where "Just S.C.R.E.A.M (Stand Confident, be Ready to Engage, And be Mindful) came to life. As a group, we dedicated our time to look for opportunities for all students to learn how to feel confident in defending and protecting themselves if a dangerous situation arises.

In partnership with the school resource officers, we started a social media page to share, and promote our project as well as to get teens to sign up for our self-defense class offered by our resource officers.

After presenting our project at the FPS State Competition in Orlando my team was awarded 1st place and we were fortunate enough to be invited to compete at the FPS International Competition at the University of Massachusetts from June 7-11, 2023. The Flagler County School district generously supported all of the cost at the State Competition however, the International Competition falls on each of us.

The support of generous donors such as yourself can help me relieve the stress of the financial burden as each of the participants must fundraise approximately $1500 to attend this competition due on May 3rd, 2023.
