Help OM State Champs get to World Finals!

Please help our Odyssey of the Mind team raise $15,000 to go to the World Finals!

One of our Odyssey of the Mind teams at Evergreen Community Charter School (Problem 1, Division I) won 1st place in North Carolina and we earned our spot at the World Finals on May 24-27 held at Michigan State University. Our team of seven 5th graders, coached by Blake Vaden and Josephine Thomas (both volunteers), has worked extremely hard to get to where we are now. We are continuing Evergreen's tradition of sending a team to Worlds, but for many on our team, it will be their first chance to experience the excitement and magic of this epic competition. They want more than anything to get the full experience!

What is Odyssey of the Mind?

Odyssey of the Mind (OM) is a worldwide creative problem-solving competition for elementary through high school-aged students. Teams of up to seven people work together to build a long-term solution (create a play with rules and limitations in a few months) and a short-term solution (try to get maximum points; the problem is unknown until seconds before you compete). Our team competed in the Pirate Problem where a group of pirates sails their hand-built “ship” to battle a sea monster and reclaim their stolen treasure!

How is your donation helping our team?

As a team of students, our families have to pay our registration and travel expenses. Your kind donations will help to pay for gas, food, lodging, and registration and activity fees for this 6-day event. This isn’t even considering the eight days our parents will be taking off from work. Going to OM Worlds has been a dream of ours all season, and with your help, we will make it happen!
