My name is Janis La Velle and I am the coordinator of this fundraising page.
I have had the greatest pleasure in becoming close friends with my neighbors, Ethan Lann and Autumn, along with his service dog Chewy.
We do live in a wonderful community and neighbor hood.
On December 11th at 4:09am, Ethan was walking out to his vehicle in front of our apartment complex. At the same time it just so happened that a group of thieves were canvassing all of our cars.
When he realized what they were doing he said “HEY!” immediately 2-3 men start running and 2 began shooting at him, resulting in Ethan being shot. The violence didn’t stop there. Ethan crawled to a tree for cover. The two gunmen continued to fire on him even though he was wounded and taking cover. They didn’t want to injure. Their aim was to kill someone for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
That is just a horrific story and has no place in our community.
He was able to get back inside the front entrance to his apartment building when the 2 gunmen ceased firing.
Ethan served overseas in OEF without being wounded physically to have all this violence to unveil right out his front door on a Sunday morning.
Any and everything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
Funds are to help Ethan during his recovery, including house bills, medical bills, etc.
Ethan is a professional locksmith and this injury will keep him from working for quite sometime.
