Family Fund with Fire affected Ono Ohana

Hurricane Dora changed our lives. Our house got burned down to ashes. Two months and six days after getting married and living in an amazing new place. My name is Pablo and Meli. I’m from an island, Cuba and she’s from Argentina. We were lucky to live in paradise within a paradise: historic Lahaina. Life turns in a second, and we saw the fire getting closer to our home.
During a dry hurricane with 85 mph winds, 100 F and 10% humidity, we were sheltering with our friends in our house and relaxing while the Hurricane passed by the island. The fire kept feeling closer and Meli decided that it was time to take action: we had time to warn our friends and get the most important stuff. We gathered some things and just had time to run while the fire was a block away from us. Luckily, we escaped. We lost our home and work. Some of our closest friends Guille and Oreja lost everything too, including their passports, savings and ID. Left with nothing, it’s time to start growing from the ashes like a Phoenix. Some friends reach Ed out to us and asked us to start a campaign, so we are listening and trying to open a door to solidarity. Thanks to all who send prayers, best wishes and luck.
