Introduction:
Hi, My name is Manish. I was one of the founders of Kalash Indian Kitchen in Queensborough. This is a fundraiser to open a new restaurant named Butterica (www.butterica.com) with its only focus on Butter chicken and its different flavours. The restaurant will open at the River's market at Quayside drive. The expected date of opening is September 15, 2022.
For the amazing donors:
1. All the donors will receive a coupon code for the 100% of the donation value. That coupon code can be used on all pickup orders from Butterica. Abosuletly no restrictions.
2. The donors will also recieve a non-transferable "Founding Angel" card that will entitle the holder for a lifetime 10% discount on any food item purchased from Butterica.
Background:
I am a came to the city of New Westminster in 2018, and decided to start my venture in the food business by starting Kalash Indian Kitchen with my partners.
Even though Kalash Indian Kitchen was loved and accepted by the community, I could see some issues like delays in preparing food and making the same food inefficiently over and over again. Keeping a lot of unsellable items on the menu. And so forth.
Butterica's Story:
I was never a big fan of butter chicken back in India. But seeing the dish's popularity here, I decided to taste it seriously. And I was hooked. But even with all its popularity, there was still something missing in the flavour.
So I took a two months trip to India and tasted Butter chicken in more than 25 popular restaurants in India. And I brought some of the lessons back here in New Westminster. One of which was to make the sauce fresh. The fresher the sauce, the bold the flavours.
Butterica is the distillation of all those lessons and hours of creating a perfect recipe for Butter chicken. We are going to open our first restaurant in New West. And our focus will be entirely on Butter chicken sauce (Butterica sauce) based items. Our sauce will be made fresh every day, unlike other preparation methods in which sauce is stored for almost a week.
I am very excited about the idea, and to make it a reality, I have used my entire savings on restaurant renovation, equipment, and other business expenses.
I am organizing this fundraiser to help buy inventory and a bit of working capital to keep a month or two of expenses on hand. I have tried approaching banks, but that seems a bit harder for a new small business.
So I just thought maybe I would try to pitch to the community and see if they are interested in being a part of the founding members of Butterica.
Cheers guys!
P.S. The pic is when we first started Kalash Indian Kitchen. :)
