Help Open It's Poppin After being SCAMMED by Contractor!!!

We are Janelle Doyle and Desmen Milligan and we are the owners of It's Poppin! Gourmet Kettle Korn in Charlotte, NC. We unfortunately have to start this campaign as our

BUSINESS HAS FALLEN VICTIM TO FRAUD.

We were paying a general contractor to help us open our first brick-and-mortar location in the University area of Charlotte on The Boardwalk.

We were in the process of transforming a 1700 square foot retail space into a customized kettle corn shop. However, we have been

DEFRAUDED, SCAMMED AND FLAT OUT ROBBED by a contractor named AKEIA MARIE SAUNDERS -POSHLY

and her company The AMP AGENCY, LLC.

Each time this contractor told us the money was being used to build out our new store, pay sub contractors, order materials amongst many other things. She was actually pocketing the money, not paying any of the subcontractors and most materials and supplies were never delivered.

In addition to this, the work that has already been done we found out from another contractor that most of it was done incorrectly and will need to be redone to get us up to code and pass inspections.

We also believe that WE MAY NOT BE THE ONLY BUSINESS SHE HAS DONE THIS TO OR CURRENTLY SCAMMING AS WE SPEAK.

In our conversations she had told us about other projects that she had going on simultaneously with ours. I'm trying to find out what other businesses she has scammed or is currently scamming so we can all come together to catch this criminal, press charges, lawsuits and hopefully recover some of the money back.

Hiring a new contractor, plumber, electrician and mechanical engineer to not only fix the previous contractor's mistakes but also to finish the build out of our store is not an option for us unless we can raise more funds. The money that was stolen was all from loans, lines of credit and personal funds. Without help we will not be able to open and will be paying these debts for many, many years to come and will possibly have to file bankruptcy.

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT OUR SMALL BUSINESS WHEN WE NEED IT MOST.

After beating breast cancer 2 years ago it was our dream to open our first brick and mortar store This is my families dream; we provide jobs to the community, give back to those in need and have been a Charlotte staple in Uptown for the last 7 years. However, without help WE WILL NOT SURVIVE.
