Help Orphan Shahd & Her 3 Siblings After Tragic Lost
Donation protected
Shahd, a 13-year-old girl, has been orphaned by the horrific events of the 2023 Gaza war. On
October 17, 2023, a bombing destroyed her family’s home in Al-Bureij Camp, leaving her
parents and older sister dead. Shahd survived but now faces unimaginable grief and trauma,
along with her three surviving siblings: Anas (26), Hasan (17) and Enass (25). They are severely
injured and displaced, living in temporary shelters.
This campaign seeks to provide Shahd and her family the financial support they urgently need to
recover, rebuild their lives, and secure a future after losing everything.
Shahd's Story: A Child Orphaned and Traumatised
At only 13 years old, Shahd has lost her parents and her home in a single moment. Not only did
she survive a horrific bombing, but she now carries the emotional and psychological burden of
losing her loved ones. Shahd is in desperate need of psychological support as she tries to cope
with the overwhelming trauma.
Since the war, Shahd has been unable to return to school. Her education has been interrupted for
a year, and her dream of becoming a doctor feels further out of reach. This campaign will helpher get the psychological treatment she needs and allow her to resume her studies in a saferenvironment.
A Day That Changed Everything: The Family’s Tragic Story
On October 17, 2023, the family home was hit by multiple airstrikes as part of the larger assault
on Gaza. In the blink of an eye, Shahd lost her parents and her sister. Seven other homes in their
neighborhood were also destroyed, with entire families wiped out. The family’s once peaceful
life was shattered. Their home, which was filled with warmth and love, was reduced to rubble.
Enass’s Battle for Survival
Enass, now 25, was severely injured in the attack. She sustained multiple injuries, including
shrapnel wounds that remain lodged in her body, causing her constant pain. Despite needing
immediate medical attention, Enass hasn’t received proper treatment due to the lack of medical
resources in Gaza. The longer these injuries go untreated, the more her condition worsens.
In addition to the shrapnel, Enass suffered second-degree burns that cover 20% of her body,
making her extremely sensitive to both the cold and the heat. Living in temporary shelters has
only worsened her condition. The family spent weeks in a tent in Rafah, where the scorching
summer heat caused severe irritation to Enass’s burn wounds, leading to infections. The lack of
clean water and medical supplies only aggravated her suffering
To make matters worse, Enass developed facial paralysis on the left side, affecting her ability to
see, hear, and speak properly. Her nervous system has been severely impacted, and without
advanced neurological care, she risks permanent damage.
Despite these overwhelming health challenges, Enass remains determined to support her younger
siblings. But her condition is rapidly deteriorating, and without immediate medical intervention
outside of Gaza, her chances of recovery are slim.
Anas: The Weight of Responsibility
Anas, at 26, now finds himself in the role of the head of the family. Before the bombing, Anas
was a recent graduate with a degree in primary education, working at an auto licensing company.
That job, like many others in Gaza, was destroyed in the war. Now, Anas is tasked with the
overwhelming responsibility of caring for his younger siblings, including Shahd, who needs
emotional support, and Hassan, who requires psychological care
Anas is still recovering from the psychological toll the war has taken on him. Despite the trauma,
he works tirelessly to find shelter, food, and water for his family. His resilience is admirable, but
he needs financial support to rebuild his life and ensure his siblings’ well-being.
Hassan’s Interrupted Future
Hassan, 17, was in his final year of secondary school when the war began. The bombing
interrupted his studies, and his future now feels uncertain. Like Shahd, Hassan is deeply
traumatized. The loss of his parents has left a lasting scar on his mental health, and he needs
therapy to overcome his trauma and get back on track with his education.
This campaign will help provide Hassan the support he needs to finish school and pursue a
college education, giving him the chance to build a future outside of the war-torn region.
