Help Osama Revive His Educational Dreams

Hello everyone,

My name is Maria and I live in Eugene, Oregon, USA. I have created this campaign for a friend of mine, 19-year-old Osama Tahseen, in collaboration with Mohammed Tahseen. Originally from Gaza City, the Tahseen family has endured displacement to other areas of the Gaza Strip throughout the past year.

Osama graduated from high school with honors, not long before the genocide. He planned to fulfill the vision he had for his life by attending Al-Azhar University to study electrical engineering just like his brother, Mohammed.

Al-Azhar University was bombed by Occupation forces in November 2023, completely destroying the entire facility and Osama's ambitions. In addition to this, many of his friends have been martyred. These traumatic experiences have caused unimaginable grief, hopelessness, and depression. Osama does not have the privilege of taking time to process these events as he is in a constant state of hypervigilance due to living in an ongoing war zone.

The importance of continuing education and personal growth are some of Osama's core values; he thrives from learning. Money raised from this campaign will be used as a college fund for Osama: tuition, textbooks, student housing, and any other pertinent expenses. If needed, money from this campaign may be used by Osama for necessities in the meantime (food, water, clothing, medical care, vet, etc.) Funds raised will be withdrawn by me and transferred to Osama via Western Union. Circumstances like this serve as a reminder of the interdependence between individual and collective wellbeing and provide an opportunity to show the world that we will always take care of each other.
