Help Oscar walk properly again
Hello Furr friends and hoomans,
My name is Oscar. I’m a 1 year old adventurous Scottish Fold and I’ve just been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia by Medivet and Vets4Pets.
The hip dysplasia leaves me in pain every day, some days I’m left limping, I meow a lot (for those who know me they know I don’t meow at all usually) and I am no longer allowed to go for outside walks and adventures with mum. She has tried taking me out in my backpack or stroller for short walks but it leaves my legs very stiff afterwards.
Due to the severity of my hips (they have both come out of the sockets) the recommended treatment for both my hips is Total Hip Replacement surgery which is unfortunately not cheap and is not covered by my insurance company.
Mum received a quote for one hip surgery from Faversham Clinic of £7,000. My insurance only covers up to £1000 and they have already covered some of my blood tests and x-rays. Any donations to help my mum with the vet bills will cover the surgery, overnight stays in the clinic, medication and physiotherapy.
At this stage in my journey back to health mum cannot afford to get both my hips fixed so she has decided to at least start with one so I can gain back some mobility and quality of life (and play in the park again - yay!).
And this is why mum and I are reaching out to all animal lovers and kindly asking everyone to donate whatever they can so I can get back onto three healthy legs.
If you don’t have hooman moneyz to donate for my surgery, I would be meowst thankful if you were able to share this campaign with your other hooman friends.
All my love,
Oscar (*my mum had to write this story for me)
