Help Oso Recover From A Shotgun Wound

Donation protected
Hello everyone, My name is Jessenya and my family and I need some help with the costs of an emergency limb amputation for my dog. This is Oso and here’s his story… Oso is 3 years old and has always been such a bright soul. I’ve had him since he was a puppy, he’s been through so much with me and even became a Big Brother to my daughter, Kamila. He’s the goofiest dog I’ve owned and he’s just really a big part of my family.
7/9 Sunday morning, Oso was shot with a shotgun. He was left with a “massive wound” as his doctor describes it. The shot was heard from my house but we believed it was a small hand gun and that the bullet grazed him while he was running home. We weren’t quiet sure what exactly happened until X-rays showed the pellets in his body. We were told he has a spreading severe infection that has caused tissue necrosis and his doctor said it will spread due to its severity. For now, we are currently trying to fight it with antibiotics and praying for something good to happen. His doctor told me he doesn’t think Oso’s wound will heal in the next 3-4 months or that his skin will start to grow back. It’s being left open because the shot blew his skin off and there’s no way to close it due to it being so big and on his shoulder muscle. (sorry for the graphic detail) Despite the fact that he was shot, he was still showing signs that he had fight left in him! He’s eating and drinking, taking his prescriptions and hopping up and down stairs to go use the bathroom. So far, the treatment I could afford was an exam, sedation, x-ray, cleaning his wound, and medications. The next step now for him is IMMEDIATE limb amputation. The amputation itself will cost around $1800 but it is considered a major surgery and there could be other complications, we have set the fundraiser goal to $2500. Because he has this infection and it can’t be closed up, the chances of him making it with his leg left attached is very slim. He has a fighting chance with a lot of life ahead of him. I really want to give him that opportunity and I’d hate to have to go through with euthanasia. With this being said, I find myself asking for some help with the costs of treatment for Oso. We’d greatly appreciate any donations from you if you find it in your heart to give a little. Any amount helps us get closer to helping Oso. God bless everyone helping us out. ❤️‍
