Help Otto With His Hip Surgery

Meet Otto, the resilient and loving furry friend who has brought endless joy into mine as well as my family’s lives. He’s an adorable Maltipoo that has only recently turned 8 months. Sadly, we’re faced with a challenging ordeal - Otto took a recent visit to the vet where we found out his hip is out of place, and he needs to undergo a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery because of his debilitating, painful condition.

For those unfamiliar, FHO surgery involves removing the head and neck of the femur bone. In Otto’s day to day life, his leg bone brushes against his femur bone, something that is painful for him every moment of the day. The surgery provides relief and improved mobility for dogs suffering from things similar to his condition like hip dysplasia, injuries, or severe arthritis.

Our family always wants the absolute best for Otto, especially when relating to his health because of how much he’s improved our lives. Because of this, it’s quite unfortunate the costs place a significant financial strain on our family, with expensive costs from his initial surgery and aftercare adding up.
