Our beloved mother, Earnestine Brown-Turner, has lost everything in the devastating Eaton Canyon fire. At 82 years old, her home, car, and all of her belongings were consumed by the flames, leaving her with only the clothes she wore that day.

Earnestine’s home was more than just a house—it was a sanctuary of love, faith, and service. Altadena is where she built a life for her family as a single mother, raising her three children, grandchildren, and chosen family in this community with unwavering dedication and strength. Her connection to “Beautiful Altadena” runs deep, as it has been the backdrop for countless milestones, celebrations, and cherished memories.

In the fire, she not only lost her belongings but also irreplaceable memorabilia: generations of family photographs, keepsakes, and heirlooms that connected her to her roots and the legacy of our family. These were treasures she had lovingly preserved, and their loss is profoundly heartbreaking for her and for all of us.

For over 50 years, she opened her doors to family, friends, and her community, creating a space where people felt cared for and connected. Her faith has always been her guiding light, and she has spent decades giving back to her church communities—leading prayer teams, teaching Sunday school, and uplifting Altadena, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, and beyond.
