Help our community survive this crisis

Dearest friends and all people of good will, 

As you know our beautiful Ecuador is being devastated by the pandemic in unbelievable ways. 

What you mainly see on the news is horrifying images from Guayaquil, Quito and other big cities. 

The press, the government, the ministry of health all seem to have forgotten of the suffering taking place in our coastal province of Santa Elena, located between the two most affected provinces - Guayas and Manabi. 

We, the inhabitants of the local villages are left with no resources, no medical equipment, no healthcare and no income and NO HELP FROM THE AUTHORITIES. Here, sick people die in their homes with no medical assitance, and hundreds of impoverished locals are left without any food supplies and basic provisions. 

In villages like our Montanita, almost 100% of inhabitants depend on income stemming from tourism. We have been under extreme lockdown with a police curfew for 15 hours a day for 6 weeks now and thus left with no means to survive. 

We, the people of Montanita and the surrounding villages, know we can only count on each other and our friends all over the world. For weeks now we maninly managed to maintain our communities from international donations and voluneer work of the local and foreign residents. 

I want to ask you from the bottom of my heart to help us feed the local families, to help our communities survive this crisis. 

Every day people in our villages die due to lack of medical assistance. Together, let's at least prevent people from suffering from hunger and its consequences. 

I believe it's the least we can do and I'm certain I can count on your kindness and generosity. 

I know that all of you are in a difficult situation! If you, however, can spare a few dollars on this project you can literally feed a local person for a few days. 

You can potentially save someone's life.  

Every dollar of your donations will be spent on necessary medicine and food supplies such as rice, flour, lentils, plantains and other vegetables. To give you the idea of how far your help can reach: every 1$ can get us 10 bananas, every 10$ of your money can feed at least one person for a week, every 100$ can be used to buy ingredients to make 1,200 loaves of bread!
